Trace a route
The path packets take from nine regions, hop by hop.
Hops are placed from a GeoIP database, so a router's spot on the map is approximate, and routers without a known location are skipped.
How it works
Each region sends UDP datagrams with rising TTLs, like traceroute, and reads the ICMP answers.
* is a router that didn't answer, which is common and usually harmless. "Trace to me" traces to the address
you're visiting from; it goes only to the site's own servers and isn't stored. From a terminal: curl ipq.sh/trace
traces to you, curl ipq.sh/trace/example.com to a site; add ?from=nyc, lon for some regions only.
